Nylas Agent Accounts - Create mailboxes and calendars that your AI agent owns

by•
Give an AI agent its own hosted email address and calendar with one API call. It sends, receives, and schedules from an inbox your application owns and controls, with no user account to borrow and no provider setup to wire up. Email and calendar on a single identity.

Hey Product Hunt, Pouya from Nylas here. Nylas has powered email and calendar infrastructure for thousands of apps since 2013, and Agent Accounts is what we built when the same problem showed up for AI agents. Every email-agent setup I saw had the same blind spot: the agent borrows a person's account. You wire up OAuth, the agent acts as you, and everything it sends comes from your address. That falls apart the second you want the agent to be its own actor: a scheduling assistant that owns the meeting, a support agent with its own inbox, a research agent people can email directly. The usual workarounds (shared inboxes, repurposed user tokens, send-only transactional addresses) each break in a different way at scale. One API call provisions the agent its own hosted email address and calendar on a single identity. From there it works against every Nylas v3 endpoint: send and receive mail, process full reply threads, create events, send invites, handle RSVPs. The account belongs to your application, not to a human the agent is impersonating. A few things we got obsessed with: - One identity, email and calendar together. Most "email for agents" tools stop at the inbox. The moment a workflow needs to book a meeting you're adding a second vendor. Here both live on one account, and the agent can check a participant's free/busy before it schedules anything. - It's an identity, not just an inbox. The agent has its own address and calendar your app owns and controls, not a borrowed token that dies when an employee leaves. - One API surface, connect however you want. Ships with MCP, a CLI, and SDKs, so both your agent and your application can work the account. - Built for production from day one. Per-account rules, lists, and rate limits, enterprise spam protection, and usage-based pricing that scales with you. Plus full compliance on every plan including the free tier: SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, ISO 27001, ISO 27701. Details at trust.nylas.com. Free to try, three accounts and 3,000 emails a month on the free tier. Would love feedback from anyone building agents that send mail or run calendars on their own. What should the agent be able to do that it can't yet? → https://www.nylas.com/products/a... → https://developer.nylas.com/docs...
