Hello everyone, My name is Dzmitry and I am software engineer from Poland. In 2021 during EURO 2020 at my full-time job our event managers held a competition across all employees to predict tournament winners. The competition was organized with MS Forms submissions and required a lot of manual work from organizers, at the same time there was almost no visibility for participants what is the ranking and who is top runner. I decided to create a project where anyone can organize football(soccer) prediction competition in just few mouse clicks and at the same time I wanted competitors get as much fun as possible during the tournament. I thought it is a good idea as myself I like football(soccer) a lot and would like to compete in match predictions but I never go to bookies as I understand that it is just a way to lose money. So I started my journey in November 2021 and it took me almost two years to deploy the very first MVP version in August 2023 when we started to play with 5 friends a competition with English Premier League. It was funny throughout 10 months of the 2023/2024 season so I decided to share my project with wider audience before EURO 2024 kick off. In total it took me 2.5 years to build the first public version and share it with people. Why too long? I have a wife and two small kids who take all may time after full-time job. Sometimes I had a chance to write just few lines of code and I almost do not work on this project on Saturdays and Sundays. Nostrascore is completely free for competitors and just one time fee may be charged from competition creator in case if more than 10 competitors are expected in the competition.
