Your Windows PC has a dead zone at the top. I filled it with 1 MB of Rust.

The top of your screen does nothing. So I built Nock.

It’s a notch for Windows: about 1 MB, plain Rust, no Electron, about 0% CPU when idle. Here’s what’s in it today:

  • Media: artwork, track info, play/pause and a seekable progress bar

  • Today: focus timer, to-do list and calendar

  • Clipboard: history with search and pins

  • Shelf: drop files on the notch and grab them later

  • Apps: your pinned apps in one click

  • Controls: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, sound and brightness

  • Games: a small arcade

  • Power: lock, sleep, restart, shut down

  • Stats, plus alerts: it notices what you copy, tells you when your mic is on, and warns you about low battery

  • A buddy that runs little animated scenes

  • Ctrl+Alt+T to add a task from any app

You can try all of it without installing anything. The notch on the site is live:

I’m launching on Nov 5, and I’d rather hear what’s wrong with it now than after:

  1. Which of these would you use every day?

  2. What’s missing?

  3. What would make you uninstall it?

Follow this page to get a reminder when it goes live. I read and reply to everything.
