Practical ways to grow patience (and the other fruit of the spirit)
Galatians 5:22–23 lists love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. They grow through practice in ordinary moments:
1. Notice which one is weakest for you right now.
2. Pick one everyday situation where it's tested (traffic, a slow coworker, a child at bedtime).
3. Decide in advance what the patient, kind or gentle response looks like there.
4. Try it, then look back honestly at the end of the day.
5. Focus on one fruit for a few weeks before moving on.
