NightSnore - Find out if you snore. Private, on-device, no subscription.

by•
NightSnore turns your iPhone into an overnight snore recorder. Put it on the nightstand and go to sleep. In the morning you see how often you snored, when, and can play back the recordings. Talking and coughing are kept separate. Everything is analyzed on the iPhone: no account, no uploads. New in 3.1: sleep sounds synthesized live on your phone, and a two-column layout for iPhone Duo. Free with unlimited monitoring; one-time unlock, no subscription.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Bones, the solo developer behind NightSnore. It started when a friend thought they might snore and wanted to know how bad it really was. Recording all night and scrubbing through eight hours of audio isn't realistic, and most snore apps I found were subscriptions. So I built one that just answers the question. How it works: plug in your iPhone, put it on the nightstand with the bottom (mic) facing you, tap Start, sleep. In the morning you get a snore score, how many times you snored and when, a full-night chart, and short recordings of each episode. Talking, coughing and other noises go to a separate tab so they don't inflate the count. If you wear an Apple Watch to bed, sleep stages, heart rate and blood oxygen line up on the same timeline. A few choices I cared about: - Everything runs on the iPhone. No account, no cloud, recordings never leave your phone. - Free to download with unlimited monitoring and a full report every night. A one-time purchase unlocks history, trends, playback and export. No subscription. - New in 3.1: 18 sleep sounds generated live on the phone (not looped recordings) that fade out before detection starts, plus a two-column layout for the new iPhone Duo. Honest limits: it's a recorder, not a medical device, and it can't tell you whether you have sleep apnea. Results depend on where the phone sits; a loud AC or fan can hide quieter snoring (I'm improving this in the next update). I'd love your feedback, especially if you've tried other snore apps. What's missing?
