Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Tevfik, the solo dev behind Nightmare TV. I built it out of frustration. Every IPTV player I tried on my PC was either an Android app stuffed into an emulator, or a thin ExoPlayer/VLC wrapper that clipped HDR highlights and stuttered on 4K HEVC with DTS. Nobody was treating the picture and sound the way the file actually deserved. So I wrote a native player on libmpv (the playback core behind mpv) and built the parts I personally care about: - Real BT.2390 HDR tone-mapping with per-frame GPU peak detection — bright skies on live sports keep their detail instead of blowing out, instead of just dumping HDR10 metadata at the panel and hoping. - Dolby Atmos / DTS-X / TrueHD bitstream passthrough over HDMI (WASAPI exclusive on Windows; macOS does multichannel PCM, not Atmos bitstream — being upfront). - 4-stream multi-view, one-tap MP4 recording, scheduled EPG DVR, natural-language guide search, multi-server auto-failover. As far as I know it's the only IPTV player shipping real reference HDR tone-mapping AND Atmos passthrough together — that's the one claim I'll actually stand behind. Two things I want to be honest about, because they matter: 1. It's a player ONLY. You bring your own M3U or Xtream Codes playlist. It hosts, ships and sells zero channels — same category as VLC. I take the anti-piracy line seriously. 2. Platforms today: Windows 10/11, macOS, Android and Android TV (tested on real boxes — Onn 4K, Shield, Fire TV, Mi Box). There is NO iOS, iPadOS, Apple TV or Smart-TV (Tizen/webOS) app yet. I'd rather tell you that than have you find out after downloading. It's on the Microsoft Store and Google Play, with a 14-day full-feature free trial, no credit card.
