I rewrote my landing page after realizing I was selling the wrong feature
When I launched NEXT U, I led with "no subscription — pay per ad, not per month." It felt like the obvious differentiator. Every competitor charges $19–89/mo. We charge per generation, 1 credit = $0.01, only on success.
Then I watched people actually use the product. Nobody mentioned pricing first. What they talked about was: "I just answered some questions and it made the whole ad for me." The guided questionnaire. The auto-generated copy. The fact that a finished video came out without touching an editor.
So I rewrote the landing page. The headline is no longer about pricing. It's: "From a product photo to a finished ad — as easy as filling out a questionnaire."
No subscription is still true, still important — but it's a supporting line now, not the hero. The hero is that you don't write prompts, you don't write copy, you don't edit video. You answer questions. You get an ad.
Lesson: the feature you think is your moat might not be the feature your users actually care about. Watch what they say unprompted (no pun intended).
Anyone else had this kind of positioning pivot after launch?
