I removed the prompt box from my AI ad tool. Conversions went up.
Every AI ad tool I tested starts the same way: a blank text box and a blinking cursor. Write your prompt. Be specific. Include your target audience, tone, platform…
I built NEXT U the opposite way. There is no prompt box. You upload a product photo and answer a short guided questionnaire — what you're selling, who you're selling to, which platform. That's it. NEXT U writes the ad copy for you, picks the visuals, scores the music, and edits everything into one finished video.
The bet was simple: most people who need ads are not prompt engineers. They know their product. They know their customer. They just don't know how to turn that into a Facebook ad in the right format with the right copy.
Early results: people who start the questionnaire are finishing it. The ones who stalled on a blank prompt box before are now getting to a finished ad.
Still early. But "remove the blank box" might be the highest-leverage design decision I've made.
Curious if anyone else has tried replacing a prompt interface with a structured flow — did it help or hurt?
