I'm Abdullah Tarar, founder of Famst Agency, and I built Netzwerk A1 — German Vocabulary Practice for one very personal reason: I was drowning in German vocabulary. The problem: I'm learning German at the A1 level (the integration course based on the Netzwerk A1 textbook). To pass, you need to memorize thousands of words. Every flashcard app I found was either paid, full of ads, required a login, or simply didn't follow my textbook's syllabus. So I did what any developer would do — I built my own. The tool: Netzwerk A1 — German Vocabulary Practice packs the entire A1 syllabus — 3,365 words across 12 chapters — into a single HTML file that runs in any browser, on any device, even offline. It has 8 practice modes: - Flashcards — flip, mark "Got it!", shuffle - Quiz — 20-question multiple-choice rounds - Matching — pair German words with English meanings - Type It — active recall by typing translations - Fill-in-the-Blank — complete real German sentences - Reference — browse & search every word - Hardcore — timed level tests that track your mistakes - All Hardcore— every single word in a chapter, on the clock Every word includes a translation, example sentence, memory tip (mnemonic), noun gender, and high-frequency flag. Your score, streak, and unlocked levels** are saved in your browser — no account needed. The impact: - 100% free, ad-free, no login, no tracking. Just open and learn. - 3,365 words with memory aids that make vocabulary actually stick. - Offline-ready. It's one file. Download it and study on the bus. - Gamified — points, streaks, level unlocks, and confetti keep you coming back. - Open source (MIT) — anyone can fork it, add chapters, translate it, or rebuild it. I built this for my German class (batch A1-455). Today I'm open-sourcing it so every German learner on earth can use it — free, forever. 🎓 Disclaimer: This project is an independent educational tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the authors or publisher of the Netzwerk A1 textbook.
