Hey Product Hunt šŸ‘‹ ā€” maker here. I want to be honest about what motivated me to build NetDoor. The goal was never just to keep kids away from dangerous content. Filters and blockers can do that. The goal was something harder: to build a tool where kids themselves become the ones who understand the rules ā€” and choose to follow them. Every parental control app I looked at had the same mental model: parents set rules, kids obey. That model creates compliance, not understanding. And compliance has an expiration date. I wanted a daily ritual where, before the apps open, a child spends 60 seconds with a question like: "It's okay to tell someone online your home address if they seem friendly. ā€” True or False?" Asked every morning for a year, that small question becomes an ingrained habit. A few things I'm proud of: - Zero networking code. Seriously zero. I wanted parents to trust it completely because there's nothing to harvest. - Mistakes don't punish. They teach. Wrong answers just show an explanation and a new question. - Parents can write their own rules to reflect their family's values.
