What I learned from launching a niche AI product on Product Hunt
I launched Mystilink on Product Hunt a few days ago.
Mystilink is a desktop AI workspace for traditional metaphysics, including BaZi, Zi Wei Dou Shu and Saju.
The launch didn’t create a huge traffic spike — but it gave us something useful: a clearer picture of how difficult it is to communicate a highly specialized product to a general tech audience.
One thing I am thinking about now is positioning.
Should a vertical AI product lead with the technology — “desktop AI agent” — or lead with the problem/domain it was built for?
For Mystilink, I’re increasingly leaning toward the latter.
Instead of trying to be another general-purpose AI agent, I want to go deeper into the workflows that practitioners actually need.
I am continuing to build from here.
If you came across Mystilink during the launch, I’d be especially interested to know: what was the first thing you thought the product did?
