Hey Product Hunt! I’m dating a Russian girl and started learning Russian out of curiosity. My first steps were kinda awkward: there’s a whole new alphabet to learn before you can do much with the language. Most resources I found were either a big chart to memorize or a full language course that rushed through the alphabet in one lesson. I wanted something that would take me through it one letter at a time, let me hear each one, and get me reading real words early on. Couldn’t quite find something I liked, so I built it! MyCyrillic teaches the 33 letters with native-speaker recordings, memory aids and short quizzes. Letters come back for review as you learn, and after your first four letters you’re already reading real Russian words. There’s a little sound-matching game too. The part I spent the most time on was handwriting. Russian cursive can look completely different from print: a handwritten т looks like an m. I used handwriting lesson videos to capture the pen’s strokes, turned those into a font, and built animations and practice exercises so you can follow how each letter is written. A few practical things: - Runs in your browser on phone or desktop. Add it to your home screen to use it offline. - Interface in English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. - No account needed to start. The first seven letters are free. - The full alphabet is €4.99 once, with no subscription or ads. If you’ve never read Cyrillic, I’d love to hear where you get stuck in the first few letters. I’m especially curious how the handwriting practice feels on a phone, and whether the free lessons give you enough to decide if it’s for you. Thanks for trying it!
