Working Docker image of MyChat Server for Linux, sending files and folders to chat in one package, dragging files from chat to Explorer, and indication of microphone activity during calls.
Hello Product Hunt community! š
We are excited to share the release of MyChat 2026.5! This update directly addresses two major practical workflows: bringing the server into the Linux/Docker ecosystem and completely simplifying how files and folders are shared within team chats.
Production-Ready Docker Image for Linux: A massive milestone for IT administrators. You can now quickly deploy MyChat Server in a container environment and manage it with standard Linux tools, so it easily fits your existing virtual machine or VPS infrastructure.
Folder & File Sharing in One Batch: Regular users no longer need to archive folders or split assets into dozens of separate messages. You can now send any number of files and entire folders together in a single "file bundle" that fully preserves your project's structure. The system even supports automated resume-uploading if your connection drops mid-transfer.
Seamless Drag-and-Drop: You can now drag files and images directly out of your chat window into Windows Explorer, desktop, or external apps like Word, Outlook, and editors without the hassle of manual saving.
"Send to -> MyChat" Integration: Send files directly from Windows Explorer via the right-click context menu, making your workflow faster when working from your project directories.
We'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and questions in the comments below! Thank you for your support! š
@nss_mychatĀ Congrats on the launch, Heorhii. Drag-and-drop file and folder bundling on a Linux server is a real quality-of-life win for teams living in Docker ā server-side file handling this polished is rare, and it's the kind of thing people quietly rely on every day.
One idea while it's live: your PH launch is still editable, and a video in the gallery holds attention better than screenshots. So I made you one from your site, free, and it's whitelabel ā yours to post as your own: https://foxplug.com/v/mychat-2026-5-9c541c30
I build FoxPlug ā it turns your real product updates into videos, posts, and GIFs automatically: guided feature tours, GIFs, short posts for X, long-form for a blog, and full product walkthroughs. foxplug.com ā building in public, loudly.
@nss_mychatĀ Ā Actually, to be perfectly honest, for a long time we've been grinding on the auto-generated launch videos - where we're working off nothing but a landing page and (from today) other materials, like media in a PH launch page. I ask you, thus, what would make the video good enough that you would include it in your media gallery - in PH launch page, elsewhere?
