How much of your online donation actually reaches the cause?

I used to assume that when I donated online, all of it reached the nonprofit. Turns out it usually doesn't. There's almost always a cut somewhere between you and the cause, and you rarely find out how big it is.

I've been building in this space for a while now (Müşterek, a donation app that takes no commission), and honestly the fees weren't even the part that got to me. It was realizing that most people give once and then just never hear anything back. They never find out if the well got dug or the kid actually got the scholarship, so they quietly stop giving.

I keep thinking the real problem with online giving isn't the money, it's the silence after it. Would you give more if you could actually watch your donation land somewhere? Curious how people here see it, especially anyone who's spent time around nonprofits.
