MonoLisa v3 - A typeface built for you, the developers and creatives.

MonoLisa typeface has been around since 2020. In its latest iteration, version 3, the family grows as it includes a proportional variant called MonoLisa Text that complements MonoLisa Code for UI and design tasks. MonoLisa Code has received distinct design improvements as well and it has been restructured so that you can apply the ligatures you want. There's also a new grade axis for subtle weight tweaks without changing line breaks.

While developing version 2, we realized that a monospaced font cannot cover it all. That's where the idea for MonoLisa Text came from since it completes the typeface allowing new use cases. MonoLisa Text forms the perfect pair for MonoLisa Code. Besides this, version 3 gave us a chance to revisit past decisions and restructure our cv/ss tables. An added bonus of doing this was making it possible to enable ligatures selectively as often you want only specific tweaks, not all of them. We're curious to hear what you think of the new version.

A coding font is one of those choices you don't realize you have opinions about until someone changes it on your machine. Letting people turn ligatures on selectively instead of all-or-nothing is such a small thing that's secretly a big thing.

Looks great — congrats on v3 👏

For sure. We know it goes against the norm but it felt important given the positioning and the fact that now you can go and customize the font exactly the way you want.

The grade axis is a smart detail for developers. Being able to make subtle weight tweaks without changing line breaks matters a lot when a font is used all day in code editors and UI work.

Thanks! It's great to hear you enjoy that little feature we added. 👍
