Mobile server http - Share files and host websites directly from your device!

by•
Mobile Server HTTP turns your Android device into a fully functional web server. Unlike standard sharing apps, it requires no PC or cloud. Host files directly over Wi-Fi/Hotspot or generate a public SSH tunnel link for global access. Standout features include a unique "Cinema Mode" for synchronized video streaming to connected guests, granular user permissions (read/upload/delete), and secure Basic Auth profiles. Share files and stream media instantly. No root required!

Hello Product Hunt! 👋 I created Mobile Server HTTP to solve a very specific problem: sharing huge files and streaming media locally without relying on the cloud, internet connection, or third-party servers. The inspiration came from wanting full ownership of my data. Why upload a 5GB video to a cloud drive just to download it on a laptop in the same room? With this app, your Android device becomes the HTTP server. How it evolved: Initially, it was just a local Wi-Fi sharing tool. But during development, I wanted to push the limits of what a mobile server can do. I ended up adding: Global Access: Built-in SSH tunneling to share a public link anywhere. Cinema Mode: A synchronized video player to broadcast movies to your friends' devices. Advanced Access: Granular permissions and Basic Auth to keep things secure. Let me know what you think! Happy to answer any technical questions about how it runs under the hood.
