How we built MixArt to create realistic AI-edited photos (without the “AI look”)
Hey everyone 👋
I'm the founder of MixArt — an AI tool that helps turn ordinary photos into studio-quality visuals in minutes.
When we started building MixArt, we noticed a big problem:
Most AI image tools create results that look… too AI-generated.
Faces get distorted, lighting feels off, and the final image loses its natural feel.
So we focused on one core goal:
👉 Make AI edits look real — not artificial.
To achieve that, we built an AI agent powered by Gemini that deeply understands user intent from both prompts and reference images.
This allows MixArt to:
• Replace backgrounds while preserving lighting consistency
• Change outfits without breaking face or pose
• Generate product photos that actually look usable for ads
• Keep natural skin texture and avoid the “over-processed AI look”
Instead of just generating images, MixArt tries to edit with intention — closer to how a human designer would think.
We’re still early, and I’d really love your feedback 🙌
👉 What’s the biggest problem you’ve faced with AI photo tools?
Happy to answer anything!
