What 38 Product Hunt Comments Taught Me
Thanks again to everyone who supported the MinkNote launch 13 days ago. The feedback was really positive, and it’s already changed what I’m building next.
What I learned
After 38 comments, one theme clearly stood above the rest:
Better integration with the macOS ecosystem
A file watcher so MinkNote updates when files change outside the app
Better handling of sync conflicts
Development is already underway.
Launch so far
102 downloads
508 App Store impressions
First Pro subscribers
First Lifetime customer
Nearly 900 website visits
For a privacy-first macOS app with no advertising budget, this has been a great start.
Shipped this week
Version 1.2 shipped yesterday with:
Ability to customise text size
Onboarding video integrated directly into the app
Added the MinkNote Manifesto to the website
I’d love more feedback
If you’ve tried MinkNote:
What worked well?
What disappointed you?
Which feature would make you use it every day?
If there’s a feature you’d love to see next, I’d really appreciate your vote on the roadmap:
https://minknote.featurebase.app/roadmap
One takeaway I wasn’t expecting was how often people mentioned plain Markdown ownership and being able to use their notes anywhere. It clearly resonates with a lot of people.

I really like how transparent you've been with the roadmap. It could also be interesting to share a few short demos of upcoming features as they're being built. Those kinds of progress updates are always fun to follow.

@hassan_ismail_rebe thanks, yeah I'm trying to do #BuildInPublic, it's more work than I imagined!
Thanks for the suggestions - I will do a video on the new text resizing, and other features as they materialise. Will be posted here.
