I removed MinkNote's 14-day trial and replaced it with a free tier that doesn't expire
MinkNote is a privacy-focused Mac app that keeps everything you write and collect in one place, organised and effortless to find again.
Until this week it ran on a 14-day trial, then all the notes went read-only. Two weeks is not long enough to know whether an app like this fits your workflow, so now it works the way most Mac apps you already use do:

What Free gets you
An editable journal where you can create unlimited notes, folders, tags, and inline images. The full editor with a formatting toolbar, split view, search, favourites, multiple window support and full keyboard navigation. No note cap, no watermark, no nagging, no expiry date.
Point MinkNote at any other folder of Markdown you already have and it opens read-only: fully browsable, searchable, and linkable. Just not editable. Nothing is hidden or stripped out, so an existing collection of notes is worth opening on day one.
Pro lifts the editing limit so you can write across every journal and project. If a subscription ever ends, nothing is moved, converted or taken away; the areas outside your free journal simply go back to read-only. Full breakdown here.
What MinkNote actually is
Markdown is how MinkNote stores things, not what it's for. It's a place to write and keep the information that piles up over time - project notes, a work or personal journal, meeting decisions, code snippets, study notes. Plain files in folders on your Mac, no account, no sync service, no database.

Projects are reachable straight from the main sidebar instead of buried in Prefs

The in-app docs are now mirrored on the website, generated straight from a MinkNote journal by a published agent skill — so you can turn your own notes into a docs site the same way
