I’m sharing Milo, an experiment in making a voice companion feel more expressive. Its Three.js robot moves its face, hands and body with the audio. Start with a preset sentence: the ready-made clip plays without a model download. Then try a typed or spoken conversation.
Milo offers local Qwen replies, Fast/Better answers/Hybrid modes and compatible-browser GPU acceleration, or an optional connection to your own ChatGPT account. Local models require substantial downloads; the setup panel shows what is needed and can reuse or delete saved files. A recent desktop browser is recommended; memory and performance vary.
Privacy update for the current hosted edition: microphone recordings and Whisper transcription stay on your device. Hosted speech sends the text Milo will say through Milo to the voice service; local Kokoro is the fallback. Choosing ChatGPT sends messages and conversation context through Milo to OpenAI. The hosted edition is therefore not entirely local inference.
