MicroPlastics - Research-backed microplastics scanner for food

by
MicroPlastics helps you scan food and beverages to estimate microplastics exposure based on packaging material, wear, and usage context like heat or reuse. Every score is backed by peer-reviewed research and includes citations, so users get more than a vague “healthy” label. Track exposure over time, compare products, and make better everyday choices. In partnership with PlasticOrg Group in Bay Area and associated research.

Hey Product Hunt, I built MicroPlastics because most food and health apps still treat packaging risk like a black box. I wanted something that could scan a product, factor in the packaging, condition, and usage context, and then show the actual research behind the score. Right now the app lets you: 1. scan food and drinks by camera or barcode 2. see a microplastics safety score 3. view the studies behind the result 4. track your exposure over time Would love feedback on three things: 1. Does the score feel trustworthy? 2. What product categories should I improve first? 3. What would make you use this weekly, not just once?
