I'm the solo dev behind Meetly. It started from a painful moment: I missed a
client kickoff because the calendar notification came in while I was in flow,
I swiped it, and didn't realize until the client had been waiting 12 minutes.
That one missed call cost me more than the whole project was worth. So I built
the thing I wished had existed.

What it is

Meetly is a tiny native macOS menu bar app (~8 MB) that does one job: make sure
you never miss an important meeting. Instead of a banner you swipe away, it
fires a fullscreen reminder right before a meeting — with the title, an
auto-extracted Zoom/Meet/Teams join link, a live countdown, and
Join / Snooze / Dismiss. You pick which calendars it watches, and it runs
alongside your existing calendar app (it doesn't replace it).

What makes it different

- Watches multiple calendars together (Google, Outlook, iCloud, Exchange) and
dedupes the same meeting across them.
- Auto-extracts the join link from event notes/location/URL — one click to join.
- Detects overlapping meetings and groups them into one alert.
- Syncs dismiss/snooze/join across your Macs via iCloud — handle it on the
laptop, it's handled on the desktop too.
- Privacy-first: no backend server, no analytics on your events. Your calendar
data stays on your Mac / your iCloud.

What's new in 1.3 (today's launch)

Meetly now also watches **Apple Reminders**. A task with a due date in the
lists you pick fires the same fullscreen alert at the right time. Plus
per-calendar and per-list overlay/sound rules, and a redesigned settings UI.

The fullscreen takeover right before a meeting is such a smart move, no way to accidentally mute it and miss the call. Glad it now pulls from Apple Reminders too.
