MBCompass: Compass & GPS - Compass & GPS tracking without tracking you!

MBCompass started from a simple frustration: I wanted a compass app that respected my privacy. Most apps I tried were filled with ads, trackers, unnecessary permissions, or were so bloated that they felt more like social platforms than outdoor tools. I started with a tiny open-source compass. After sharing it on Reddit, Hacker News, and F-Droid, people began suggesting features they actually needed. True North support came after discussions on Hacker News. Compass accuracy warnings, AMOLED mode, and better UI came from early users. More recently, offline Mapsforge support became the single most requested feature, so it became the focus of the latest release. Today MBCompass has grown into a lightweight outdoor companion with an accurate compass, GPS track recording, GPX export, offline maps, and detailed track statistics, all while staying under 2 MB, fully open source, and completely free of ads, analytics, and tracking. Your location data never leaves your device. One of the most rewarding parts of building MBCompass has been watching the community shape it. Many of the features in the app today exist because someone took the time to leave feedback, report a bug, or suggest an improvement. I'd love to hear what you think.
