I’m building a flatmate matching app around the questions people usually ask too late

by•

I’m working on MatchPod, a flatmate matching app starting with Bengaluru.

One thing kept bothering me about the way people search for flatmates.

We usually talk about rent, location, deposit and the room first.

Then after moving in we discover the stuff that actually creates problems.

Sleep timings. Cleanliness. Guests. Food habits. Smoking or drinking. Noise. Pets. Personal space.

So we built MatchPod around those things instead.

Right now people answer 20 questions, see how compatible they are with someone, and get an explanation of where they match.

I’m trying to figure out one thing before we push it harder:

Would 20 questions feel like too much before seeing potential matches, or would you rather answer more upfront if it meant better matches?

Would genuinely like criticism from people here.
