I built MakeMyReadme because I kept seeing GitHub repos with either no README, a generic template, or docs that didn’t match the actual project anymore.
The idea is simple: connect a GitHub repo, let MakeMyReadme analyze the real codebase, then generate a practical README.md with setup, env vars, usage, deployment notes, and project structure. Instead of just downloading text, it can open a GitHub Pull Request so you can review the README before merging it.
I’m especially building this for:
- students polishing portfolio projects
- freelancers handing off client work
- teams documenting private repos
- developers who want a useful README without starting from a blank template
Pricing is transparent before generation: €0.99 base + token usage, capped at €4.99 for standard repos.

Pulled a half-finished side project into it and got a solid first draft in under a minute, which saved me a lazy Saturday afternoon. Nice that it picked up the folder structure without me spelling everything out.

love how it pulls context straight from the repo so the readme actually matches the project instead of being generic boilerplate, that detail alone saves a ton of back and forth for handoffs

honestly the contextual approach is smart, it actually pulls from the repo structure instead of just spitting out generic templates. going to use this for my client handoffs, super practical

Picked one of my half-finished repos to test it and the readme it generated actually picked up the right stack and a sensible folder structure without me hand-feeding anything. The markdown came out tidy enough to paste in directly, which I didn't expect.
