Lorem - Local-first Markdown notes and collections that you own

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built Lorem as a place to keep everything I write and collect for years — not just until the next app comes along. So every note is a plain Markdown file on your own device, and the app around it is designed to be pleasant to use every day. What makes it different • Your files are the app's data: Notes are plain Markdown. A collection is just a folder, and each row is a note with its properties in frontmatter. Open your library in Finder or any text editor and everything is readable. • Collections built in: Text, number, select, date, checkbox, image and formula properties. Views include table, list, gallery, masonry and cover flow, each with its own filters and sorting. A Linked Collection merges several collections into one view. • Write without the clutter: Markdown symbols step aside as you type. Type / or @ to pull in blocks, notes and collections. Renaming a note updates every mention of it. • Collect anything: Paste or drag in photos, links, videos and files. Images are compressed and saved beside the note, and links become preview cards. • Find it again: Fast search, backlinks, and daily notes that keep a running log of your days. • Undo goes beyond text: Deleting, moving and duplicating files can all be undone, and every note keeps a version history. • Local and private: Everything stays on your device and works offline. iCloud sync covers macOS, iOS and Windows.
