Do you paste API responses, JWTs or config files into online tools?

Quick question for the developers here

When you need to format a JSON response, decode a JWT or check a config file, where do you paste it? A lot of us use the first online tool that comes up in a search, without knowing whether that data is sent to a server or logged

That's the reason I built LocalOnly: 37 free developer tools that run entirely in your browser. JSON formatter and diff, JSONPath, YAML, CSV and XML converters, a JWT decoder, Base64, UUID, a PlantUML editor and more. Nothing you paste is uploaded, and it works offline once loaded.

I'm curious how others handle this:

  • Do you use online tools for this, or only local ones like jq or IDE plugins?

  • Has your company ever banned online formatters?

  • Which tool would you want added next?
