Local OCR - Building an offline Math-to-LaTeXOCR forAndroidvia llama.cpp

Hey everyone! 👋 I built this tool because I personally use Obsidian for my math notes, and typing LaTeX on a mobile keyboard is honestly a nightmare. I tried existing OCR apps, but I hated that they required an internet connection (privacy risks) or expensive subscriptions. The Challenge: I wanted to see if I could bring desktop-class accuracy to a phone without the cloud. Porting GOT-OCR 2.0 via llama.cpp to Android was a huge technical hurdle—especially managing memory on 8GB devices like my Pixel 7! It's still in "scrappy beta," but it works.
