Small maker update: Local Music Organizer 1.1.19 is now out.
The biggest change is a major update to the Live Spectrum Player, but there’s also a lot of work under the hood around large library performance, Library Index restore, Health Check, File Maintenance, and reliability.
I also fixed an annoying edge case where Music.app could repeatedly open Locate for a missing local file.
The user manual has been completely reworked as well it’s now a much more detailed, illustrated guide covering the current workflows, controls, safety boundaries, and the intended way to work with large local/offline Music.app libraries.
I’m continuing to build LMO around the same principle: inspect first, understand what’s happening, and only then make an explicit change.
If you use a large local/offline Music.app library, I’d love to know what still feels slow, awkward, or hard to manage.

I appreciate the inspect-first approach. my music library is something I would rather have carefully analyzed before any tool starts making changes.

@simran_kumar Checking and then doing something is an excellent approach. I would like to further emphasize that my program does not make changes to the music service files, does not repair (break) the database, even accidentally, but works only with physical tracks and only after user approval.
I've used a few of these organizer tools before and most abandon the manual once the app matures. Glad to see LMO going the opposite direction with real documentation

@aaronsaas I created the app primarily for myself (I'm a bit of a perfectionist). Over time, I decided it could help someone else with a large offline database, so I turned it into a commercial product. The program grew with features and options (one option grew like a tree with branches), and after receiving feedback from a couple of testers that they were completely confused about what was going on and where to click, I realized I needed to clarify.
I read through the new manual last night and it actually explains the safety boundaries clearly for once. Most apps touching a music library never bother with that level of detail.
