Solo devs: how do you handle the "discovery vs. usage" timing gap?
I’m about to launch an AI meeting assistant and I keep running into the same bit of friction. People usually discover it when they’re not in a meeting, like browsing Product Hunt or scrolling Twitter, but they can only really try it once they’re actually in a meeting. By the time the next meeting comes around, they’ve often forgotten about it.
I’ve been thinking about a few possible ways around this. One is a short demo video that shows it in use. Another is a “test it with a YouTube video” kind of mode, so people can try it right away. I’m also considering a Google Calendar reminder integration to nudge them when a meeting is coming up.
For those of you who’ve launched products with this delayed-usage problem, what ended up working for you? Did you find any creative ways to close the gap between discovery and that first real use?
