Hey Product Hunt 👋 LinkDrop exists because of one tiny, maddening gap in macOS: you can AirDrop a photo, a file, a note — but a link? Only if you open the page in Safari first. I use Chrome. So every time I wanted to send an article or a video to my phone, I ended up texting URLs to myself like a caveman. So I fixed it in the most Mac way I could think of: a menu bar app. Copy a link anywhere — Chrome, Slack, a PDF, even a URL buried inside a paragraph of copied text — press ⌥⌘L, and the native AirDrop picker opens with the link ready to send. You can also just drag a link (or a file) onto the menu bar icon. Things I cared about while building it: • Zero permission prompts — no Accessibility access, no Input Monitoring, nothing to grant. It just works after install. • Native and tiny — pure Swift + AppKit, no Electron, no background bloat. • Free & open source (MIT) — read every line on GitHub, build it yourself, or install with a single brew command. • Notarized by Apple — no scary warnings on first launch.
