Lidnight - Close your MacBook. Your AI agents keep working.
by•
Keeps your MacBook awake with the lid closed, even on battery, while Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI or Ollama work, then lets it sleep when they're done. Claude Code and Codex are tracked precisely via hooks (40+ other tools by process and GPU activity), including Claude's usage-limit waits so auto-continue survives the night. Approve permission prompts from a notification, a bunny by the notch, or your phone (Pro, end-to-end encrypted). Battery and heat protection built in.

Hi Product Hunt! I built Lidnight because closing my MacBook kept killing long Claude Code and Codex runs. caffeinate doesn't survive a closed lid on battery, and keep-awake apps don't know when an agent is actually done.
What it does:
- Keeps the Mac awake with the lid closed (even on battery) only while AI work is running, then sleeps
- Detects 44 AI tools, Claude Code and Codex precisely via hooks
- Answer Claude Code permission prompts from a notification, the menu bar, a bunny by the notch, or your phone (end-to-end encrypted; risky commands stay Mac-only)
- When Claude Code hits its 5-hour limit it auto-continues after the reset, but not if the Mac slept 30+ min. Lidnight keeps it awake until then
- Claude/Codex 5-hour and weekly limits, battery/heat protection, charge limit, fan boost
- A share card of how long your Mac worked with the lid closed
Free keeps the Mac awake with the lid open while AI Auto mode runs; Pro (lid closed, even on battery, plus auto-start and phone approvals) is a one-time $9.99 ($14.99 for 3 Macs), 50% off through Oct 31, with a 7-day trial and 14-day refund. English, Korean and Japanese. No account; it only sends five anonymous daily counts (no device or ID), which you can turn off.
I'd love to hear how you run agents overnight and what would make this more useful.
