The custom loan sequencing you can drag into your own priority order is such a thoughtful touch—most planners force you into one rigid method. Love that the data stays local too.
@ouzhan1998466 Thank you so much, Oğuzhan! Really appreciate the kind words.
We strongly believe that personal finance is personal. Pure math is great (and that's why we built Avalanche and Blitz), but real life often requires flexibility—whether that's prioritizing a co-signed loan for relational peace or knocking out a family debt first.
Keeping everything 100% local and private without any invasive bank syncs was also a non-negotiable for us from day one. Glad to hear those design choices are hitting the mark for you!
Love that there's no login or bank sync, finally a debt tool that takes privacy seriously. Played with the Blitz method and seeing the monthly interest savings laid out next to Snowball made it way easier to pick a strategy.
@nazbozoklu Thanks, Naz! Glad the side-by-side strategy comparison helped make things clearer.
Just a quick heads-up on the login: you do need to sign up for an account to save your dashboard and progress, but there is absolutely no bank connection or syncing.
You manually input your details, meaning we never touch your bank accounts or request login credentials. Your financial privacy is always front and center!
How does the Blitz method actually decide which loan to prioritize, and is the resulting payoff order noticeably different from what Avalanche would produce on the same debts?
@mkoramaz32336 Great question! Here is how the math breaks down:
How Blitz decides: While Avalanche looks strictly at the interest rate (APR) and Snowball looks strictly at the balance, Blitz targets the actual dollar amount of interest bleeding from your wallet each month (roughly Balance × APR / 12).
Is it different from Avalanche? Yes, it can be quite different. For example, if you have a
30,000 car loan at 6% 150/mo in interest) and a
2,000 credit card at 24% 40/mo in interest):
- Avalanche prioritizes the $2,000 credit card first (highest APR).
- Blitz prioritizes the $30,000 car loan first (highest monthly dollar bleed).
Dynamic Shifting: Blitz also recalculates dynamically every month. In the example above, as you pay down the car loan and its monthly interest cost drops below $40, Blitz will automatically pivot your extra payments to the credit card.
It also handles introductory 0% APR promotional periods brilliantly — it ignores them while they cost $0 and automatically targets them the moment the promo ends and the interest bleed starts.
Tried the Blitz method on my own loans and the monthly interest savings projection was eye-opening compared to what I'd been doing with a spreadsheet. Love that nothing leaves my device.
@muhammed54207 Thanks, Muhammed! So glad you're finding the Blitz method's calculations more insightful than a standard spreadsheet.
To clarify how we handle privacy: if you're using the app as a guest, you're absolutely right—all data stays 100% in your browser's local storage. If you sign up or log in, your plan details sync securely to our database so you can save your progress across devices.
Crucially, we never connect to your bank. No account linking, no bank syncs, and zero credential sharing. Your financial control remains completely manual and private!
Tried the Blitz method against my usual avalanche plan and was surprised it shaved a few months off without me changing payment amounts. The custom priority ordering plus no-login setup feels refreshing for a planner that actually wants you to think it through.
@sabanl23423 Thank you, Şaban! Shaving months off your debt-free date without changing your payment amounts is the ultimate win, and it's exactly what the Blitz method was designed to do by targeting absolute dollar bleed first.
Just a quick heads-up that if you want to save your dashboard across devices or unlock premium features down the road, you will need to create a secure login (though rest assured, we still maintain 100% financial privacy with zero bank syncing!).
Manually ordering my loans by priority was way more satisfying than I expected, and seeing the Blitz method pull ahead of my usual avalanche plan in the simulator actually convinced me to switch.
@tkferhat9483 Thanks for sharing this, Ferhat!
We love hearing when the simulator helps people find a faster, cheaper path to debt freedom they wouldn't have otherwise seen. It’s also super satisfying to customize that order to fit your actual life.
Best of luck on your payoff journey!
