Let’s Get Dim Sum is a visual guide app that makes ordering Dim Sum less intimidating and more fun. Inspired by the bullying of my mom towards my wife for not knowing her Dim Sum dishes, the app helps you quickly learn about each Dim Sum dishes with photos, dish details, and tea pairings. it’s my tribute to keeping the Dim Sum tradition alive, one bamboo steamer at a time.

20 days ago, Maria (my wife) and I took my mom out for her birthday Dim Sum and out of that meal, a new app idea was born. For those unfamiliar, Dim Sum (literally “touch the heart”) is Chinese tapas that’s been around since the 900s. While Maria’s been to Dim Sum many times, remembering dish names is tricky, especially when the Dim Sum carts are going away and the menus are only in Chinese; she's Italian - how is she supposed to know?! So, when my mom lovingly teased her for not knowing the dishes, I realized… there isn’t an app that shows what each dish looks like, how it’s pronounced, and what’s inside. Well, there is now 😉
