Hello community! Maker here. Please ask me anything, or tell me what Laura should do next.

Hi, I'm Ionut, a software engineer from Romania with over a decade of shipping products across the stack: backend systems, frontends, payments, and async infrastructure, several of those years as a technical lead on healthcare and security products.
By day I build distributed systems in various languages. The rest of the time belongs to music. I've been producing electronic music at home for ten years, and the two halves finally collided in Laura, a commercial synthesizer plugin I designed and built alone in C++, from the DSP to the installer to the license server, and launched this year.
I like problems where the engineering has to be exact and the result has to feel good, so I build Laura alone: the DSP, the UI, the presets (got some help from friends here), the installers and the licensing too.

Quick orientation if you're new. Laura is a synth plugin (VST3, AU, and standalone on Mac and Windows) with four oscillator engines (wavetable, FM, classic analog, and fractal) plus Mycelium, a reaction-diffusion field that all voices share and also they read modulation while you play.
There's a free demo at lostsynapse.store, and it's $69 once (Until August 11) if you like it, no subscription.

All topics are welcome, but i was thinking of a possible few:

  1. Questions. Anything from sound design tricks to why the license is an offline file. I answer everything.

  2. Requests and bug reports. I ship a feature release roughly every two weeks (and a new release every Tuesaday), and user reports have already shaped several of them. If the demo misbehaves on your machine or you're missing a feature, this is the fastest way to put it in front of me.
