LANterm - Serverless P2P terminal chat for your local network

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built LANterm to scratch a simple itch: when you're on the same WiFi as someone, why should a message travel to a data center and back just to reach the desk next to you? LANterm is an open-source CLI chat app. Run it, pick a username, and everyone else on the same network running it just shows up — no server, no accounts, no setup. Messages travel peer-to-peer over UDP and never leave your local network. A few things I focused on: → Zero friction — ships as a single executable, no runtime to install → Auto-discovery — peers appear automatically, no IPs to type → Genuinely serverless — there's no backend to run, ever → MIT licensed, contributions welcome Useful for LAN parties, offices with locked-down networks, workshops, hackathons, or anywhere you just want a quick local channel.
