Hi Product Hunt! I’m Marco, the maker of Komorebi. This started with a personal wish: to create stories with characters I love, and eventually bring them to life through animation. Exploring that idea led me to a smaller, useful first step: a comic editor where you can arrange characters, choose page layouts, write dialogue, and finish a multi-page story. This beta includes editable speech bubbles and tails, left-to-right or right-to-left reading, and PNG export. You can use the prepared characters without generating new images or bringing an API key. Animation is a future direction. Today, I want to make creating that first comic feel approachable and enjoyable. Komorebi handles the hands-on work of assembling an anime-inspired comic in the browser: choose from five original characters, switch expressions, arrange multi-page layouts, write dialogue in editable speech bubbles, set left-to-right or right-to-left reading, and export finished PNG pages or a ZIP. Free beta, no account needed. GPT-6 Astra, used through Codex, was the lead builder behind that workflow. It designed the character briefs, wrote the editor and its data model, layouts, bubble system, bilingual UI, validation and drafts, coordinated the asset-production research with other AI tools, and prepared and executed the deployment. Astra is not called at runtime; its work is embedded in the shipped product, so users can create comics without per-generation AI cost
