We're refactoring the Creator Economy into instantly available, download-free mini apps that can be launched directly inside every major social network from the Link in Bio—bypassing the iOS and Android App Stores.
The Creator Economy will be the dominant way tomorrow’s artists and entrepreneurs make their livings, and we believe in creating a powerful, equitable foundation for it to flourish.
At its core, Koji is an app store and a universal runtime for web-based apps, including an entire developer ecosystem, in-app purchase toolkit, identity framework, and more. We like to think of our Link in Bio as being a "launcher" like your phone's home screen—except, it's a launcher that you share publicly, and it acts a menu of all the ways people can interact with you. Koji Apps give you new things to add to that launcher, from pure utilities like email newsletter sign up, or selling locked content; to fun and novel, like adding a 3D avatar in a digital room.
For context, we spent two and a half years building the app layer (and have even been on Product Hunt for past iterations!), but the launcher only took a week to build, and we released it in late March of this year. Since then, we've seen some amazing early traction, from niche creators to some of the top 10 TikTokers in the world.
