Talking to local restaurant owners, cloud kitchens, and talented home chefs, we kept hearing the exact same frustration: big food delivery companies take 25% to 35% commission cuts on every single order. For independent culinary creators working on thin margins, those fees are brutal. Many were forced to rely on chaotic back-and-forth WhatsApp text messages just to keep their full earnings. We knew there had to be a better way: a platform that gives local food creators enterprise-grade web storefronts without eating into their hard-earned profits. We originally started with a traditional marketplace mindset, but quickly realized that helping vendors digitize their existing customer traffic came first. We shifted to a "white-glove" onboarding model, building complete store pages for home chefs as a gift to save them time, and pivoted heavily toward a fast, friction-free web experience before rolling out our mobile app.
