Should productivity software just make decisions for you?

I keep running into this while building Jikoku.

If the app already knows a task’s duration, deadline and what’s on your calendar, asking you to manually pick a time slot starts to feel like making you do work the software could do itself.

But the more decisions the app makes for you, the easier it is to become annoying instead of helpful.

Where would you draw the line?
