Invoice to Shopify CSV Parser - Map supplier Excel files & PDFs to Shopify using local AI.
by•
Fed up with manually matching supplier spreadsheets to Shopify’s strict template? I built a Chrome extension to automate it.
Drag & drop any supplier file (.csv, .xlsx, or PDF). It uses AI to auto-map columns (like "Item Code" → "SKU") and spits out a clean, Shopify-ready CSV.
100% Private: Your actual inventory data never leaves your browser.
Fast & Lightweight: No bulky software or setups.
Free for your first 5 files. Let me know what you think!

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Oliver, the creator of Invoice to Shopify CSV Parser.
I built this Chrome extension out of pure, personal frustration. If you've ever had to deal with importing inventory or products from suppliers, you know the headache: every single supplier formats their spreadsheets differently. One calls it "Wholesale Price," another calls it "Cost," and a third calls it "Unit Price."
Meanwhile, Shopify demands an incredibly rigid, perfect CSV format. If a single column header is off, the upload just fails silently or throws a useless error. I was spending way too much time manually copying, pasting, and editing Excel files.
So, I decided to build a tool to automate it.
How it works:
You drag and drop your supplier file (CSV, XLSX, or even a PDF invoice).
The extension sends a tiny sample of the headers to an AI to instantly figure out the mapping (e.g., "Item Code" $\rightarrow$ "SKU").
It applies that map locally on your machine and spits out a perfectly formatted Shopify-ready CSV.
A big thing I cared about while building this is privacy: Your actual product catalog, pricing, and margins never leave your device. Only a tiny sample of the column headers is sent out for the mapping logic.
It's officially live and approved on the Chrome Web Store! I’m here all day and would absolutely love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any edge-case supplier files you think it might struggle with.
Thanks so much for the support! 🚀
Would love to see a saved mapping profiles feature so I can reuse column mappings for suppliers I upload to regularly instead of re-mapping each time
@alperemar84836 That is an awesome suggestion, thank you! You are completely right, having to re-map the same supplier over and over defeats the purpose of saving time.
I wanted to launch this simple version today to test the waters, but adding 'saved profiles' (using Chrome's local storage so your data stays 100% private) is definitely the next feature I am going to build.
Would you be open to me reaching out directly once I have this feature ready for you to test?
Mapping columns is great, but one feature that would really help is saving custom mapping rules per supplier. That way if I import from the same vendor each month, I don't have to re-map the same fields every time, and it would speed up repeat batches significantly.
@mirayugle That makes perfect sense, especially for those recurring monthly imports where you just want to get in and out as fast as possible. Bypassing the AI mapping step entirely for repeat vendors would make the whole process almost instant.
This is officially at the very top of my roadmap now. I'm going to start working on adding custom mapping rules per supplier this week.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share this, getting specific feedback like this is incredibly helpful!
