What If Your SaaS Could Power Other SaaS?

by•

Hi Product Hunt community 👋

I'm Baskar, and I've spent a lot of time building software products and thinking about one question:

What if a SaaS product wasn't only something customers used, but could also become the foundation for other people to build their own businesses?

That's the direction we're exploring with Roboryt.

We originally started by building an AI-powered SEO/GEO platform to help businesses understand and improve their visibility in traditional search and AI-driven discovery.

But while building it, we realized something interesting.

A marketing agency doesn't necessarily want to build an SEO/GEO platform from scratch.

A consultant may want to offer their own branded platform to clients.

An entrepreneur may want to launch a SaaS product but doesn't want to spend years building the underlying technology.

So we started designing Roboryt not only as a product businesses can use, but also as technology that can power another company's SaaS offering.

That has led us to a broader idea:

SaaS → Platform → SaaS

Instead of every entrepreneur rebuilding the same infrastructure from scratch, could platforms provide the foundation while entrepreneurs focus on their niche, customers, positioning and distribution?

I'm curious what the Product Hunt community thinks.

If you could take an existing SaaS platform, put your own brand and business model around it, and launch a product for a specific niche — what would you build?

Would you prefer:

  1. Building everything yourself for maximum control?

  2. Using an existing platform and focusing on customers and distribution?

  3. A hybrid approach?

I'd genuinely love to hear how other founders think about this.

I'm particularly interested in feedback from SaaS founders, agencies, consultants and people who have tried building SaaS products themselves.
