What I learnt about Vibe Coding Apps after working as a Consumer Researcher

by•

Hi Product Hunt!

My name is Zain and I have recently launched . Over the past year I have been working as a Consumer Researcher for a Luxury Beauty Appliance company that does over $6 billion in revenue per year. Here are some lessons I learnt about vibe coding apps after speaking to 1000+ consumers:

From my time working in corporate, I realised that I was always creating something to guide how someone thinks or acts based on my opinion of a subject.

  • Working within Consumer Insights, my role was to convince the product, brand & creative marketing teams what features consumers are delighted by, and what they should change.

🎓LESSON: These experiences taught me that producing something of our own is the ability to influence human behaviour according to our idea. Design is how well we communicate it.

Therefore, what constitutes good design, what does this mean for app design?

🎓LESSON: Good design is how well our idea is conveyed to the user. Software is just the means to an end.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: You don’t need to be an ‘expert’ in UI/UX/Code, you need a clear message/vision for a problem you want to solve. In essence, Vibe coding feels more like art than a science.

Because the only limit to building something great is your idea.

PS: Would love for you to check out my app. I read any and every review and am trying to make it as best as I can :)

Really enjoyed your insights on turning consumer research into better app design! Will check out Day in Dots. If you're up for it, I'm launching on PH soon...would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile). The Sponge is my AI flashcard app that turns any webpage into study material.
