Reintroducing myself! 27, working in finance, and launching my first app tomorrow

by•

Hey everyone! 👋

Figured I'd reintroduce myself since I first joined back in April, and honestly, a lot has changed since then haha.

I'm Cyprus, 27, and I work full-time in corporate finance. About a year ago, I started building my first app, Savd: Save Money, with absolutely zero coding experience.

The idea came from noticing my own spending habits. I was always pretty responsible with money, but I caught myself buying things I didn't necessarily need, especially those smaller impulse purchases that add up over time.

Eventually I realized I sometimes enjoyed the experience of shopping more than the actual products.

That turned into Savd, an app designed to help people pause before buying something, understand their spending habits, and make more intentional decisions without feeling guilty about enjoying their money.

What started as a pretty simple idea has turned into something much bigger than I originally imagined.

Building it while working full-time has been a wild experience. Lots of late nights, mistakes, rebuilding things, learning how to pitch, and now realizing marketing might actually be harder than building the app haha.

I'm launching the redesigned version on Product Hunt tomorrow, which is exciting and a little nerve-racking.

I'm still very early in this journey and have a ton to learn, but I'd love to connect with other founders and builders, especially anyone figuring out distribution, getting their first users, or building something alongside a full-time job.

Curious, what's been the hardest part of building your own product so far?

Looking forward to connecting with more of you!
