Hey everyone! I'm Nikhil from India.
I'm a software engineer turned founder, currently building TCTGame.
For the past year, I've been obsessed with one question:
Why is staying consistent so hard, even when we know exactly what we should be doing?
More than a year from now right after new year in january, I started a small WhatsApp accountability group with six friends.
We would post what we got done every day. And on days when we couldn't complete anything, we had to share a short reflection about what happened.
The rule was simple: after a warning, if you missed again, you would be removed from the group and could only join back the next month.
And surprisingly, it worked.
That small experiment slowly turned into a web app, and then over the last 8 months, a mobile app called TCTGame, a multiplayer habit-building app.
I'm currently on a 308-day streak inside the app, and one of our early users has an even longer streak than me.
Every day, we are learning a little more about what actually helps people keep showing up.
We're launching TCTGame on Product Hunt this week, so if you have any advice for a first-time maker, I would genuinely love to hear it.
(I did build and launch a small app last year, but I'm not counting that one. It was more of a fun side project than a serious product journey.)
Looking forward to meeting everyone here!
