I launched on Product Hunt today and got almost no traction. What would you do next?

by

Hey everyone,

I launched my GDPR Policy Generator on Product Hunt today.

To be completely honest, the launch hasn't gone the way I expected.

So far I've received very little traffic, almost no engagement, and no sales.

The experience made me realize something:

Building the product was actually the easy part.

Getting people to discover it is much harder.

For those of you who have launched products before:

  • What worked best for you after launch day?

  • Did Product Hunt drive meaningful traffic or customers?

  • If you were in my position right now, what would be your next step?

For context, I'm a solo founder and this is my first serious launch.

I'm trying to learn as much as possible from people who have already been through this process.

I'd appreciate any honest advice.

Really respect the honesty in sharing how the launch went...outreach was the key to getting traction in my past PH launches. If you're up for it, I'm launching on PH soon...would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile) The Sponge is an AI flashcard app that turns webpages into study material.

Hi Dogukan

I've only just joined myself, and have not successfully launched, so I can't help you really. But I very much hope you get some good advice on how to use Product Hunt effectively as it is my single biggest fear - no traction.

I might just comment though, only because I've had the same pretty difficult question to answer myself before, why would I pay for your product when ChatGPT would probably do a pretty good job of it (given your FAQ says I might still need legal advice)?

Ooh, what about if you plug in somebody elses GDPR Policy and your site tells them what's wrong with it, and how to make it better (for a price of course).

Best of luck.
