👋 Hi Product Hunters. I am Nikos from Crete, Greece and I built tools for photographers

by•

Hi everyone! I’m Nikos, a software engineer based in Greece. Outside of coding, I love photography, traveling, and finding new places to explore.

I’m building Photographers Journal, an app that grew out of a recurring frustration: discovering a great place to photograph, knowing I needed to return when the light was better, and eventually forgetting where it was.

I wanted a simple way to save the location immediately, then add photos and notes later.

That became a personal map of places worth returning to—not just for photography, but for exploring and traveling too.

I’m working on it alongside my full-time job. Writing code is familiar territory; finding the right users and turning something I needed into something others genuinely find useful is the part I’m learning now.

I’m here to meet other makers, exchange honest feedback, and hear the stories behind what people are building.

Who else is building something inspired by a hobby or an everyday frustration?

Hi Niko, I'm so glad I saw your post, because it reminded me of good days. I had started making an application for pinning photos and GPS roadmaps on a map. It was for people who love roadtrips. Then Panoramio came and after that Google Maps, so I dropped it. You have a different approach and I'd love to see your app. But I found no url in your page. How could I see it? Is it ready? Could I help?
