Hi Product Hunt — I’m Luke, building private AI that runs on hardware you trust
Hey Product Hunt community,
I’m Luke, the maker of LocalAGI. I’m interested in local AI, distributed computing, privacy, and turning powerful open-source technology into products normal people can actually use.
I started LocalAGI because the local-AI ecosystem is incredibly capable, but still too fragmented. Running useful agents often means juggling terminals, model servers, config files, and APIs. I wanted the experience to be much simpler: download one desktop app, describe a task, and let a team of agents handle it.
The project now combines local models, research and browser agents, image and video generation, an end-to-end encrypted network for trusted devices, and an experiment I’m especially excited about called Hive Mind. It lets several computers share one model—for example, a MacBook and Windows PC can combine their memory to run a model neither can fit alone.
I’m here to learn from other founders, share the messy parts of building this, and meet people working on AI agents, local inference, privacy, and developer tools.
What are you building—and what has been the hardest part of taking it from a technical demo to something people genuinely want to use?
