I'm Brooks, founder of Aquelity, an independent software company.

I started Aquelity around a simple belief: technology should be built around people — to make life simpler, better, and more human.

The name comes from Aqua + Tranquility — and from a much older personal story around the idea of a tranquil lake.

That idea gradually became the way I think about building:

Build with patience. Ship with intention.

I don't want to chase every new trend or make software louder just because technology makes it possible. I'm more interested in small, thoughtful tools that do their job well — useful when you need them, quiet when you don't.

Aquelity’s product design philosophy embraces a youthful spirit and creativity. Quiet software can still feel fresh, lively, and full of character.

I'm here to learn from other makers, share what I discover along the way, and hopefully build a few things worth keeping.
