From a personal gardening journal to an AI-powered plant care platform – looking for feedback
Hi everyone,
I've always enjoyed gardening and keeping a collection of houseplants and outdoor plants. Over the years, I found myself growing more and more varieties, and I kept running into the same problem: remembering what I'd planted, when I'd watered something, what had worked, what hadn't, and how different species were responding throughout the seasons.
Initially, I just wanted a simple gardening journal for myself.
I started documenting plant care notes, growth observations, flowering periods, pest issues, and general gardening lessons. The more I used it, the more I realised there was an opportunity to make the process smarter and more useful.
What began as a personal project slowly evolved into an application, and then into what is now GreenSage.
The vision is to create a place where gardeners and plant enthusiasts can keep track of their plants, learn from their own experiences, and eventually benefit from collective knowledge shared by others facing similar challenges.
Along the way, we started incorporating AI to help with things such as:
Plant identification
Diagnosing common plant issues
Pest and disease guidance
Care recommendations
Building a more intelligent gardening record over time
What's interesting is that we never originally set out to build a business. We built it because it solved a problem we were experiencing ourselves.
As the project grew, it became clear that many other gardeners face the same challenges, whether they're looking after a few houseplants on a windowsill or managing a larger garden.
We're still actively building and improving the platform, and we'd love to shape it alongside people who genuinely enjoy gardening and plant care.
I'd be incredibly grateful for any feedback on:
The concept
The website and user experience
Features you'd find useful
Community ideas
Anything that feels missing or could be improved
